Daysailing at EYC

beetle-ponham-rocks-regatta-2015edited600For the day sailor, Edgewood Yacht Club offers the perfect place from which to enjoy a leisurely sail on Narragansett Bay. Many members choose to rig their boats on our dry sailing floats and head out for a sail towards Conimicut Light as the shoreline passes by in the early morning light. Others choose a path more towards the Providence skyline or banter about between the East and West sides of the upper Bay. It doesn’t matter what the time of day, one can on most days, find an EYC member skirting along on a freshening breeze, with most of the upper bay to themselves.

Except for the occasional boat entering or leaving the Port of Providence, the upper reaches of Narragansett Bay are mostly free of traffic during the week, allowing the daysailor to have unfettered access to practice and hone their sailing skills or indulge in a peaceful sail to nowhere.
